Mental Health and Well-Being Event

DJMC teamed up with the mental health and well-being team to run an event in partnership with their company, Enfield Council, Cahms and Edmonton Community Partnership it was a great event and we provided members of the public some advice and places to go if in need and some inspiring and fun DJ workshops including some dancers and singers.

2022 Round-up, April: Fore Street Projects

We have launched some projects in fore street due to the stabbing outside Mac Donald's and have been striving to make a difference and give young people not only a fun and safe activity but a voice. We have engaged over 50 young people and will continue to engage more young people in arts of music.

2022 Round-up, April: DJMC Academy Parks Workshops

During the spring we have been going into a variety of parks and engaging the young people who do not feel comfortable going into their local youth centre. It has been such a fantastic journey and we have engaged hundreds of young people who have really enjoyed taking part in the music workshops. We are looking at going into more parks where anti-social behaviour is at its highest and really strengthening communities.

2022 Round-up, April: Behind the Badge Event, Lewisham

Behind the badge event took place in Lewisham and was a great success as it was a way for the police to recruit locals into the police force and give residents a chance to have their say. We were commissioned to promote the event get locals involved in the music workshops in south London and this was aimed at adults to break down barriers between to residents and the police.

Woolwich Outreach Workshops

DJMC academy was running workshops and outreach in the heart of Woolwich for an event bringing the community and the police together to highlight any questions that residents may have. It was an epic day and we engaged in over 100 young people and adults they got to DJ on the van and just have a chat and some fun.

2022 Round-up, March: Edmonton Outreach Workshops

Outreach workshops in Edmonton have been taking place on a weekly basis for over a year. This has been commissioned by the mayor of London as youth crime is at its highest during the hours of 3-6pm and Edmonton is one of the highest crime rates for youth in the whole of London. The workshops have been fantastic, and we have engaged over 200 young people during these fun and dynamic music workshops. The young people get involved in DJ'ing, rapping, singing, and presenting their own radio shows.

2022 Round-up, February: The Boroughs United Competition

The boroughs united competition took place in February 2022 and we were very proud to have put young people win 3 awards coming first for best singing Category Gracie May from Edmonton, 2nd place best rapping category Capo from Enfield and 3rd place Kain from Tottenham. They performed in front of 600 people at the Hackney empire. All young people have come through the academy and are now volunteers and tutors helping others achieve their dreams.

Gracie on the Big Narstie Christmas Show on Channel 4

Gracie has suffered with low confidence and anxiety since joining our academy at the age of 13. Now look at her go!

Calling Out Young People's Role Models in the Music Industry

The DJMC has been running for over 12 years now and had the pleasure in working and teaching over 80,000 young people and adults. We are looking for artists who want to volunteer, perhaps even an hour to really inspire young people in their future paths. If you have been affected in the past by poverty, gang related issues, hardship, mental health or any difficulties and want to tell your story to give more positive hope please contact us. We would really love to hear your story and hope more young people will take a greater path in their future.

Our New Recording Studio is Ready!

After 6 months of building and creating our studio is ready to be used to create amazing music. The studio has been designed to continue to run our in house label with an array of talented artists we having been working with for the last 6 years. The studio has been fully equipped with a state of the art Mac, microphones, turntables, cdjs, mixer, Roland drum kit and will be used for creating music for private clients and also tuition programs.

Celebration Event @ Barnet & Southgate College

We would had a celebration event which included DJ’s, food and a fun workshops as all the young adults had progressed into internships, education and employment.
